The SCOPE Alliance closes its inaugural year with nearly all major NEPs on board, elects new slate of officers

Piscataway, New Jersey, December 18, 2006 - The SCOPE Alliance, an association of leading network equipment providers today, following its first general membership meeting, announced that at the conclusion of its inaugural year, the world’s leading NEPs are members of the Alliance along with twelve leading technology providers. SCOPE, consistent with its charter, also announced the election of a new slate of officers and co-chairs:

  • Chairman of the Board: Magnus Karlson of Ericsson
  • Vice Chairman: Eric Chacron of Alcatel-Lucent
  • Technical Officer: Timo Jokiaho of Nokia
  • Technical Co-Chair: Paul Steinberg of Motorola
  • Marketing Officer: Henry Turko of Nokia
  • Marketing Co-Chair: Leslie Guth of Alcatel-Lucent
  • Treasurer: Chris Wardale of NEC
  • Member Relations Officer: Bo Andren of Ericsson

During 2006 fourteen industry leading companies joined the Alliance including: Diversified Technologies, Emerson Network Power, Flextronics, GoAhead Software, HP, Huawei, Intel, Interphase, Kontron, Lucent Technologies, RadiSys, Samsung, Sun Microsystems and Wind River.

On December 1, 2006, Alcatel-Lucent began representing the former Alcatel and Lucent Technologies companies in the SCOPE Alliance. For more information see www.alcatel-lucent. com.
